Reflection
All four of my projects began with ambiguous briefs and unfamiliar problem spaces. Through curiosity, resilience, and proactive relationship building, I developed my own judgement.
I learned that strong ideas could lose impact if the narrative is not clear. Early on, I relied on overly technical or convoluted language, which made it harder for others to follow. I became more deliberate about simplifying complex information, translating technical concepts into user-centered stories, and focusing on the key message to make it easier for diverse audiences to understand and act on.
I learned the importance of exploring multiple directions before committing to one. Critiques and manager feedback helped me recognize that I was refining ideas too early. Since then, I have become more intentional about generating alternatives, communicating tradeoffs, and using prototypes to drive discussion rather than validate a predetermined solution.
I also learned to stay anchored to the original brief. It's easy to get distracted by new discoveries and opportunities for exploration away from the core ask. Looking back, I realized my manager's feedback was helping me maintain focus on the problem we were tasked to solve. Going forward, I want to build a habit of regularly checking whether my work directly supports the original objective.
